Individual Note: Information from Don Hinman, March 1992.Thomas and Elizabet h and theirchildren emigrated to America on the
ship "Mary and John" in 1630. Thomas was made a freeman i n 1631,
deputy to the general court from 1637 to 1640, a grand juro r in 1643 and
a juror in 1644. Thomas negotiated with the Indian Sachem T ehano for
the purchase of land in 1637. This was about the time of th e Pequot War.
The land is now part of the town of Windsor, Connecticut. T homas moved
his family to Northampton (Hadley) in 1659
