Marriage License in the possession of Frank Cerny Elsberry

Frances came to Mesa, AZ in 1882. She was two months old when they left Manti, Utah. Her family came by covered wagon through Lee's Ferry. They arrived in Mesa in late fall of 1882.

From the Arizona Republican dated 19 Jun 1904:
Miss Frances Longmore was stung on the foot by a scorpian, while
preparing for bed. The pain was severe for a short time but yielded
to applications of turpentine and whiskey. Miss Longmore is not
seeking the experience again.

     Served in Company H, 16th Georgia Partison Rangers Cavalry, CSA, Enlisted at Jefferson, Georgia on 10 Sep 1862. Captured at Knoxville, TN on 22 SEP 1863. Held in a military prison at Louisville, KY until 13 OCT 1863, then was transferred to Camp Morton, near Indianapolis, IN., On Mar 19,1864 was transferred to Fort Delaware, Del. On 7 Mar 1865, he was exchanged. His name is found next on the register of "receiving and Wayside Hospital' or General Hospital No. 9 in Richmond, VA. on 11 Mar 1865.

He is also shown on the roster of Company D, 16th Georgia Volunteer Cavalry, CSA
