All these are the "older David Lewis"
I checked First Families of Chester County, Pa, Vol 2, by John Pitts Launey
Page 44
Samuel and Jane PennellGarrett, Sr. have a daughter listed Hannah, born
18th of 7th mo 1704 died 15th of 7th mo 1763 married 1728 William Leiw of
Haverford, son of David and Ann(Jones) Lewis of Haverford.
Abstracts of Chester County Land Records Vol 1
page 66 David Lewis witnessed a deed on 5 June 1701 to Ralph Lewis for a
tractof land in Chester County
Page 85 On 14 May 1706 William Burge of the City ofPhiladelphia,
merchant...to David Lewis of Haverford, yeoman...a tract in Haverford
bounded by land of Richard Hayes, Samuel Lewis and Ralph Lewis containing
100 acres. Recorded 14 May 1706 (B2:19)
Page 87 5 Oct 1706 Ralph Lewis sold some land bounded by land of David Lewis
and George Painter and further described as bounded by the line dividing
Chester County and Philadelphia County...
Page 93 24 Jan 1703 Owen Thomas of Merion in the Welsh Tract sold to Ralph
Lewis of Haverford in the Welsh Tract a tract bounded by land of Darby
Creek, land of David Lewis and John Rees...
Vol 2 gives one ref to David Lewis with the same land description near Darby
Creek
Vol 3 gives two refs to same land
Vol 4 gives two refs to same land - the last where the will of David Lewis
conveys the land to his son Joseph 4 March 1747
That is it for land records up through 1758.

> Nadine/Sandra Before I give up forever on my ancestor DAVID LEWIS will
you glance through the volumes of your Chester Co.books to see if there is
record of him around Devon between 1732 - 1738? Hewas a member of the
Baptist Church of the Greater Valley at that time and I feel he might have
made the book somehow; with property, taxes. He was born about 1700, so any
David Lewis' before about 1720 would probably been an older DL.Thank you
very much. Dorothy Lewis Reed
