Joseph Sharpless lived in Nether Providence township until 1711, then removed to Middletown township, removing thence to West Caln township in 1737, but returning to Middletown in 1744, lived there until his death, in the spring of 1757. He was
an extensive land owner in these several townships, an elder and overseer of Friends Meeting and more or less prominent in local affairs.Joseph and Lydia (Lewis) Sharpless had ten children, of which Nathan, the sixth, was the ancestor of Frank
