Individual Note:
     Josiah moved from Windsor to Simsbury in 1682, where he became one of theproprietors. Numerous grants and conveyances of land are etered for himin the SImsbury records. In October 1686 he was admitted as a "freeman"by the General Court.

Individual Note:
     Joseph was proposed for freeman in the May 1686 session of the GeneralCourt, and was so accepted in October 1686 session of the court. Hesettled in Simsbury in 1683, and in May of that year received a grant of20 acres on Samon Brook, the same as the other Samon Brook men. He laterreceived other grants on Samon Brook and in Manatuck. In 1687 he was oneof those that agreed to pay for a minister, and for this he was givenland eastbound over the mountains from Simsbury, his being lot 18 at HoppMeadow.

He sold his lands on Samon Brook in 1692 and returned to Windsor. In1703 he settled in Lebanon. In 1708 he sold his lot 18 in Simsbury tohis brother Isaac. He was given 40 acres of land in Lebanon in 1721, forhis common right to village land. In 1735 for consideration of good willand the expectation of comforts and support for himself and his wifeEsther, he conveyed certain of his lands in Lebanon to his son JosephJr. That same year he conveyed other lands in Lebanon to his sons,Joshua, Caleb, and Aaron.

The births of his first three children, Ann, Joseph and Moses arerecorded at Simsbury. No records have been found for the birth of hisother children.

In the session of the General Court of May 1686 he was proposed for "Freeman". In the October session he was so accepted and the court ordered that he be sworn by the commissioner where he lived.

He settled in Simsbury in 1683 and in May of that year he recieved a grant of 20 acres on Samon Brook, the same as other samon Brook men. Subsequently he recieved other grants on samon Brook and in Mantuck. In 1687 he was one of 49 inhabitants of Simsbury who agreed to call and pay Edward Thompson as Minister. For this he and other subscribers recieved in 1688, grants of land to run from simsbury east bound over the mountain, his lot being No. 18.

In 1692 he sold his lands on Samon Brook and returned to Windsor. In 1703 he settled in Lebanon Ct. and in 1708 he sold his lot # 18 at Simsbury to his brother Isaac.

In 1735 Joseph Owen of Lebanon conveyed to his son Joseph Owen Jr. certain of his lands and property in Lebanon. In the same year he conveyed certain lands in Lebanon to his sons Joshua, Caleb and Aaron.

The births of his children Ann, Joseph and Moses are recorded at Simsbury. No records of the births of the others have been found.

Individual Note:
     In 1695 and 1697 his father gave him land in Windsor. In 1709, Obidiahenlisted in Captain Collins Company in Col Whiting's regiment, for anexpedition into Canada, for which he received a bounty of 11 shillings.In 1735 at the age of 68 he successfully petitioned the General Court toexempt him from paying poll taxes because "distempers had fallen into hisleg, and his thereby incapacitated to pursue his common business". Bothhe and his wife were buried in the East Granby Cemetery.

Individual Note:
     In 1695 John Owen gave his son Issac a parcel of land in the part ofWindsor known as Poquonock, giving him additional land in 1697. In 1708he bought land in Simsbury from his brother Joseph. In 1709, Isaac,along with his brother Obadiah, enlisted in Captain Collins Company inCol Whiting's regiment, for an exprdition into Canada, for which hereceived a bounty of 1 pound, 9 shillings. He was buried in the OldPoquonock Cemetery, his wife was buried in the East Granby Cemetery.
