Henry Charles Longmore emmigrated to the United States in 1862 at the age of
17 aboard the William Tapscott with his father.

According to Ada Cerny Burgess, grandaugther of H C Longmore, he had red hair and a red beard.

BIOGRAPHY: Henry Charles Longmore was the first doctor in Mesa.

DEATH: 29 October 1897. He died of Asthma.

From the Deseret News dated 18 Feb 1898:
HENRY C. LONGMORE
Near Mesa City, Arizona, Oct. 29th, 1897, after a medical practice of 35 years died Dr. Henry C Longmore,
son of Mr. Longmore of Salt Lake county, Utah. He was born May 29th, 1845, at Bath, England, where he received the Gospel in childhood, and in early youth he commenced the study of medicine. He emigrated to the United States in time to enlist in the late Civil War, serving as assistant surgeon. He carried scars from Bull's Run and other engagements. He married on arriving in Utah, and losing his wife, the mother of one son still living. He married the daughter of Isaac Morley and granddaughter of the late Patriarch Isaac Morley. She now his widow with ten children, lives to deplore the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. He was a true friend to the poor and those needing assistance sought him out in vain. Asa Latter Day Saint he fullfilled all of his obligations and was not forgetful of Temple labors for the dead. As a High Priest he may be called to a further mission to them on the other shore. Those who best knew him loved him the most and with the bereaved a large cartege followed his remains to the final place of his rest. B. F. JOHNSON
